June 17, 2023 – A Computer Called Katherine: How Katherine Johnson Helped Put America on the Moon by Suzanne Slade

Are you ready to blast off to explore the amazing story of Katherine Johnson? In today’s exciting read, A Computer Called Katherine: How Katherine Johnson Helped Put America on the Moon, Tech Tales will be exploring the fantastic story of a woman who defied race and gender norms to become a critical component of the team that put America into space, and on the moon. Katherine Johnson was a brilliant mathematician who calculated the trajectories for NASA’s first manned space flight and the historic Apollo 11 moon landing. Despite facing discrimination and obstacles as an African American woman in the 1960s, Katherine’s determination and genius helped make history and inspire generations to come. In addition, Tech Tales will create an out of this world arts and crafts rocket project after the story. Don’t miss out on this incredible journey to inspire the young minds in your life.
