Special Tech Tales: Storytime for Young Explorers

Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly

Kids out of school on Friday, the 18th for the long weekend? Come join us at the Computer Museum of America in Roswell, during Roswell Roots and Black History Month, as we celebrate the contributions of four extraordinary African American women. “Hidden Figures” tells the story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, and Christine Darden and how they persevered and overcame obstacles as women and as women of color who helped send man to the moon in1969.
There will be an activity ideal for children ages 5 to 10 following the reading. Before and/or afterward, families are invited to explore the museum and its Apollo 11 exhibit featuring memorabilia and an almost life-size lunar lander replica.
Free with museum admission.
