Computer Museum of America (CMoA) is thrilled to be a participating member of the SWAPtember program in metro Atlanta this year. Educator’s Weekend

Computer Museum of America (CMoA) will hold its first Educator’s Weekend on September 10 (10AM-5PM) and 11 (12PM – 5PM).

CMoA would like to say Thank You! for all you do and Welcome Back! to the new school year.  To show our appreciation, visiting educators who present a valid educator/teacher ID will be admitted at no charge.  Admission for accompanying family members or friends will be regular price.

Educator’s Weekend is a great opportunity for area K-12 teachers to explore CMoA. You can pick up information about our tours, activities, and group pricing for future field trips during your visit. As we are also part of the Fulton County School’s Cultural Kaleidoscope program, it is a chance for teachers in Fulton County Schools to preview one of the approved locations.

Bytes & Brews – The Museum After-Hours

CMoA is celebrating the 50th anniversary of CRAY Research Corporation and recognizing the life and contributions of Seymour Cray, the father of supercomputing at this Bytes & Brews: Museum After Hours event.

Join us in your best 1970s costume and help us “kick it back to a CRAY-Z time”.

Bytes, as in bites of light appetizers are complimentary with your ticket and adult beverages will be available for purchase. Enjoy the sounds of a DJ spinning the best funk, rock, and disco of the 1970s while having full access to the exhibits.

This event is for guests 21+

Tickets are $25.00 if purchased in advance.

Limited tickets at the door are $30.00.

National Recycling Day is in November and at CMoA, we’re recognizing this day on November 12th by collecting and recycling your old electronics.  Do you have unused electronics lying around? Do you want to dispose of them securely?  Computer Museum of America (CMoA) and New Life Technology Group have partnered to hold a contactless electronics recycling drop off at CMoA.

Flat screen TVs have a $20 disposal fee per TV.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept the following items:
TVs (other than flat screens) / CRT (Tube) Monitors or TVs / DLP/Rear Projection TVs
Refrigerators / Large Appliances 

AC Units / Thermostats

Meet the Robotics Eagles from Milton High School at CMoA!

Are you a fan of The Incredibles? Are you interested in robots? Curious about what it’s like to be in a robotics club? If so, come meet members of the Robotics Eagles team from Milton High School at Computer Museum of America. The Robotics Eagles are a local FIRST Tech Challenge Team and will be showing museum visitors the robot they made for their season’s challenge – Power Play.

Experience how the keyboards felt and sounded before the machine was ever connected to electricity. See if you can identify some common keys on keyboards of today that were not on earlier models. Visit Computer Museum of America on Wednesday, November 23rd and Friday, November 25th from 1 – 3 PM and try out a few units and meet typewriter subject matter expert Tom Rehkopf.
