CMoA 2022 Summer Camp Series

If you are looking towards summer fun and ways to engage the kids, be sure to check out the 12 camps offered at CMoA through June and July. We are thrilled to be partnering with STREM HQ again this year to bring STEM fun and exploration to children ages 8-14. Discounts are available to CMoA members and City of Roswell residents.

Full STEAM Ahead!
Camp Week: June 6-10
Suggested Grades: 5 and up / Ages 9-13
Duration: Full Day Camp (M-F) 9AM-3:30 PM

This camp is for students who want to explore all aspects of technology. Students will learn about coding, engineering, robotics, and multimedia.

Robotics Code, Build & Challenge
Camp Week: June 13-17
Suggested Grades: 4 and up / Ages 8-12
Duration: Half Day Camp (M-F) 9AM-11:30AM

Students will be able to build and program robots to engage in various challenges such as robot obstacle courses, mazes, exciting matches, and more.

Game Design with Scratch 3.0
Camp Week: June 13-17
Suggested Grades: 4 and up / Ages 8-12
Duration: Half Day Camp (M-F) 1PM-3:30PM

Campers will create their own video game while exploring and strengthening their understanding of the foundations of coding.

Javascript Coding Challenge
Camp Week: June 20-24
Suggested Grades: 5 and up / Ages 10-14
Duration: Half Day Camp (M-F) 9AM-11:30AM

Campers will learn how to add JavaScript code to a website and work on several projects including a calculator, multiple-choice quiz program, and a 2D game.

Design & Develop your own Website
Camp Week: June 20-24
Suggested Grades: 5 and up / Ages 10-14
Duration: Half Day Camp (M-F) 1PM-3:30PM

Campers will learn about graphic user interface (GUI), basic principles of brand design, and most importantly, how to use HTML / CSS to make a responsive web page design.

Minecraft Architecture/ Civil Engineering
Camp Week: June 27-July1
Suggested Grades: 4 and up / Ages 8+
Duration: Half Day Camp (M-F) 9AM-11:30AM

Campers will construct houses, bridges, ships, floating islands, and rollercoasters of the highest quality while applying the principles of physics and the effects of nature to those structures.

Roblox – Space Challenge
Camp Week: June 27-July1
Suggested Grades: 4 and up / Ages 8+
Duration: Half Day Camp (M-F) 1PM-3:30PM

Your camper will learn to create amazing Galactic adventures using the programming language “Lua”. They will also learn to use features such as a selection tools, zooming, grid-snapping, and flood fill in order to craft worlds made up of actors, gadgets, and spaceships.

Make & Take Home Your Own Desktop PC
Camp Week: July 11-15
Suggested Grades: 5 and up / Ages 10+
Duration: Full Day Camp (M-F) 9:00AM -3:30PM

In this super fun camp, students learn to design and assemble a fully functioning computer with all the necessary electronic components including a monitor, CPU, keyboard, mouse, and cables.

Build & Code Self Driving Vehicles
Camp Week: July 18-22
Suggested Grades: 5 and up / Ages 10+
Duration: Half Day Camp (M-F) 9AM-11:30AM

Campers will learn to build smart self-driving vehicles and smart vehicles from start to finish! By learning design concepts, along with mechanical engineering, they will create unique vehicle designs including the addition of sensors, obstacle avoidance, line and light following, and more.

Python Programming & Game Design
Camp Week: July 18-22
Suggested Grades: 5 and up / Ages 10+
Duration: Half Day Camp (M-F) 1PM-3:30PM

Campers will create a multiplayer live coding strategy game during this week. They will learn Python while defeating trolls, ogres, and other enemies.

3D coding – Learn to Design & Code 3D Characters!
Camp Week: July 25-29
Suggested Grades: 4 and up / Ages 8+
Duration: Half Day Camp (M-F) 9AM-11:30AM

Campers will discover 3D modeling with simple to use instructions and tools. Students can let their imaginations soar to new levels by learning to code while producing their own 3D models.

Robot Battles
Camp Week: July 25-29
Suggested Grades: 4 and up / Ages 8+
Duration: Half Day Camp (M-F) 1PM-3:30PM

No prior robotics or programming knowledge is required. Your camper’s robot, which they build and program themselves, will engage in various battle challenges and exciting matches.
